What are your thoughts on beauty pageants for kids under 12?

I’ve been watching Toddlers & Tiaras lately, and some of the parents are nasty to there kids. Do you think its fair for a kid that age?

They have to get spray tans, make-up, etc.

And what I don’t like is that, once they are all made up they look nothing like themselves. Where’s the beauty in that?

I will be entering my first beauty pageant soon and I am a total amateur, I am really beginning to feel a bit over my head. I would like to find some good books/guides and coaching for this. And I am on a shoestring budget.

I say it’s not really right because they are being judged on beauty sorta. But then again I say I have no right to judge because for all I know those children may enjoy it.

But I also think parents push their children to be "perfect" sometimes.

Also wht are some good qualitys to have befor going into beauty school? I also hear its kinda hard, is it? I’m a 15 year old boy with little expearence in cosmotology and it would be one of my dreams to learn about beauty!!!
